Our mission

The overall ambition and goal of the research performed by CAR at the Department of Anaesthesia at Zealand University Hospital are to improve patient treatment. This pertains to patients undergoing surgery with anaesthesia, those with critical illness treated at the ICU, those having sustained acute injuries, and those with chronic pain.

The research must ensure that the department is up-to-date with evidence-based knowledge. We aim to establish and support evidence-based treatment in all pillars of anaesthesia, and maintain a strong focus on investigating both benefits and harm of current and future treatments.

Our six research areas are Postoperative Pain, Regional Blockade, Chronic Pain, Intensive Therapy, Clinical Anaesthesia, and the Unit for Anaesthesiology Nursing Research.

“One of my key issues is to investigate already established treatments where the effect of the treatments is not properly elucidated.”
